Prettily tailored, sharp and deceptively simple collection from Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs. The only pieces that could have used better attention to draping and form were the ones executed in pink as the angular cuts pulled too much at the waist creating and off proportioned silhouette. I did love the eyelet as well as bodice shaping on many of the black pieces. Good collection.

Imitation of Christ RTW NYC SS'12 I am in love! As in, if I owned a store this entire collection would be in it as I couldn't possible just pick a few pieces when a collection is this exciting! Highly romantic and vintage inspired the embroidery and fabrics chosen were simply gorgeous. Revolving around the idea of a "wedding" with the "guests" walk down the aisle showing off each piece slowly and letting the models linger at the alter, the show culminated in a stunning "wedding dress" of lace, appliques and fluttery chiffon. I particularly liked the dusty blue rose embroidered sweetheart 1940s dress with preening...

Luca Luca RTW NYC SS'12 This collection by Raul Melgoza was well executed within the theme of a strong, beautiful 1940s feminine silhouette. The collection gave a feel of a Hollywood starlet from said period going on a sunny vacation and looking poised and glamorous at all times. I particularly liked the various silk (gabardine and charmeuse) and chiffon combinations, for example the pieces with blue stripes and various sized polka dots. The trend for high waisted pants or exaggerated "jodhpurs" shapes continued as well as the tulip skirts. Good collection.
